California
The California QSCB allocations for both 2009 and
2010 are oversubscribed with demand exceeding the state’s allocation. Sixty two California school districts received
$850,496,242 in QSCB allocations from the California Department of
Education in
January 2011. Another 99 districts were
authorized but did not receive allocations because the program is
oversubscribed. California
was one of the first states to use QZABs which continue to be an option
for
school districts.
